Turning to the Sky
The traditional methods for powerline mapping and inspection are no longer an effective practice for utility companies to ensure continual safe operations and inspection practices.
Not only do the traditional methods require heavy and costly equipment, time consuming for setup and teardown of equipment but are also very labor intensive. Most transmission lines are located in deep wilderness or hazardous terrain that are difficult to reach via ground, and urban transmission lines can be difficult to service without interrupting daily work-life flow. While that may be the case, routine inspection of power transmission lines is critical for securing uninterrupted distribution of electricity and communication across the globe.
Energy service providers have been turning to the sky to utilize thermal and Precision LiDAR Mapping to inspect and monitor the corridor for powerlines and towers. This allows for a more cost-effective and efficient process for inspection but also allows towers to remain functional during inspection and not interrupt distribution.
VIRTUAL CONFERENCE EXPERIENCE (VCX)
The Powerline Mapping & Inspection VCX will address these issues:

-
Safety in Powerline Transmission Danger Zones
-
LiDar Powerline Mapping Cost Efficiency
-
Data Collection Methodology in Powerline Mapping Digital Infrastructure

Presenters from government and industry will address these issues while drawing comparisons to traditional methods of Powerline Mapping and Inspection to provide an honest assessment of the future of Powerline Mapping and Digital Infrastructure.
